Leap Year Project 2013

My exchange year is over. I will need a lot of time to reflect but right now, it’s time to move on. An ending leads to a new beginning – I’m moving to New York for a month.

Just feel like sharing one thought :

Years after the legendary Raj Kapoor hummed this song, today it’s my turn. “Mera Joota hai Japani, yeh patloon Englishtani, sar pe lal topi Russi, PHIR BHI DIL HAI HINDUSTANI”

No matter wherever I go, I love INDIA! I feel travelling the world is a great privilege, which helps you understand the world and your world. Fundamentally, we humans are all the same! It’s our little quirks that makes cultures different and our planet diverse !

The biggest discovery that I have made on my journey here is that we,humans, share a common experience, that of ‘being human’. And that makes all of us the same irrespective of the many differences.

The first click – on my way to Toronto from Mumbai !

It is almost 8 months living in Toronto! and 2 more months before I’m back in Mumbai!

To be happy or to be sad! I think I am neither. Because every time I look at a plane shooting above in the sky, I have different reactions – sometimes I go like OH MY GOD ! and sometimes I shout Wohoooo!

Studying abroad is an experience – both, trying and fulfilling. But the rewards outweigh the risks. In a matter of time, strangers become close friends and your ties with your homeland get stronger. You find friends who seem culturally different than you, yet share many similarities with you. You will enjoy deep, meaningful conversations with them. Also, you will connect with your inner self. You will write more. You will think more. You will be more grateful to others.  And most importantly, you will be more grateful to life. WOHOOooo!

Formula to ace ‘the’ exam !

I am a student for life !

I have done well in my exams, and hence been a good student. But deep in my heart, I don’t consider these exams important.  However, that does not mean I don’t have pre and post-exam stress. We are living in a system, where we value exams to be of great importance.

Exams are a man-made system to test one’s acquired knowledge, a fair and standardized process in my opinion. Exams are a way of elimination. Exams are a way of categorization. Exams are, in some way, a test of one’s luck.

I am not anti-exams. An exam leads to a degree which can lead to a job. But remember, an exam lets you prove to others what you are capable of. The most important exam in your life will be questioning yourself and finding those answers on your own. And the formula for success in this exam is ‘Believing in yourself’!
